Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Who You Are:

You are a strategy and execution-focused Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), ideally with experience in the higher education / education / edtech space. You are an effective team leader and mentor. You have experience at high-growth B2C and B2B companies, marketing products/services to the U.S. market. You are able to own all areas of upstream and downstream marketing, including but not limited to product marketing, demand generation, content marketing, online marketing and advertising, social media marketing, branding, public relations, media relations, analyst relations, channel marketing, marketing analytics, and events.

What You Will Do:

As a member of our executive team reporting directly to the CEO, the CMO is responsible for the company’s core marketing strategy and shares the responsibility to drive growth. In this role, you will:

  • Set marketing goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities in the market
  • Develop, implement and manage go to market strategy
  • Design, plan and execute effective marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to the overall growth of the company
  • Review and manage content marketing strategy
  • Determine KPIs with CEO for marketing department
  • Keep the marketing budget in check
  • Track KPIs on a regular basis
  • Produce and present reports
  • Manage and mentor members of the marketing team
  • Work with sales and development and customer success teams
  • Create and present the annual marketing plan and strategy
  • Use data and reports to make evidence-based decisions
  • Analyze company's marketing strategy and suggest improvements
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology
  • Stay up to date with the latest best practices
  • Attend marketing conferences and educational programs


What You Got:


  • 10+ years experience in marketing, including content marketing, email marketing, online marketing/advertising and social media marketing/advertising.
  • 5+ years experience marketing to Gen Z / ages 16 - 25
  • Experience marketing products/services to the US market
  • Bachelor’s degree - ideally with a focus on marketing, business administration, management or similar field.
  • In-depth knowledge of big data analysis
  • Customer-centric focus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity


  • Experience marketing to the higher education / education / edtech space
  • Experience with common ad platforms like Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TickTok and Snapchat.

Nice to Have:

  • MBA or similar graduate degree in marketing, management or other relevant field
  • Experience with online community management and/or brand ambassador programs
  • In addition to marketing to Gen Z, it would be helpful if you have experience marketing to their parents (40’s - 50’s)
